This is Robby's second year in
AWANA club at our church. This is a
fantastic program for children. So far, Robby has memorized over
50 Bible verses. What a thrill it is to know that he is hiding God's Word in his heart at an early age! The clubbers each have a vest and earn patches (to sew on their vests) by memorizing verses. They each have a handbook with weekly activities and stories to go along with the verse for the week. Tonight, Robby had to recite the verse found in I John 4:11, "
We ought to love one another." We usually pick up Bradley (seen above with Robby), and he rides to Cubbies with us. They love attending, and I, as one of their three leaders, do too.
This is our church where Cubbies is held each Sunday evening from 6:00 - 7:45 P.M.
Cubbies begins with attendance. Each clubber gets to use the Cubbie Bear stamp to mark his own attendance on the huge wall chart. Some children work on their craft while others recite the verse to a leader and then the groups switch from one activity to the other. Robby doesn't look too thrilled in this picture, but he really was having a good time. Ha!
Next, the children join the other four-year old class for 15 minutes of organized games.
Yes, of course we have snack time! Tonight, zebra cubcakes. Yummy!
