Look what is in our shed? Some robins built a nest on the top rung of the ladder inside our shed. The boys and I have enjoyed watching first the eggs and then the baby birds hatch from those eggs.
The house we thought we would buy in Smyrna turned out to be in need of too many repairs, so we passed on buying it. The following week, while house hunting for the second time, we found a beautiful home in Lebanon, TN. I knew when I walked into the house that we would live there. It is all I had hoped to find in a home and even more! Our first offer was refused, however, so I had to just keep praying and trusting God to work out the details. I knew He would make a way if He truly wanted us in that house. Days later, the buyers of our house contacted us and asked to change the closing date from June 30th to May 30th! We agreed to do that, and realized that we should just make another offer on the house in Lebanon. This time the seller agreed. Praise God!! Okay, here's my whole point. That same day, the day our offer was accepted, guess what happened? The baby birds left their nest. How precious of God to wait until they were safe and secure on their way before we had to tear down the shed.
"For this reason, I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?" Matthew 6:25-26
God's timing is perfect. Our house has been for sale since June, 2007. We wondered why the delay, but just kept waiting on God. All along He knew the appointed time and manner in which things would unfold. He is worthy of our trust. No, we don't need to be anxious . . . ever!
